Default So I raced a 2018 c63s AMG with my 435i - 02-19-2018, 08:52 AM

MODS - The 435i has stock turbo, JB4 tune, ER ********, intake, 6 gallons e85, on hankook tires. The AMG had the lightweight performance seats on Michelin Pilot Cup tires and race gas.

He got me by about half a car on all our runs. Going to try map 5 next time, as in good conditions it usually targets ~1.5psi higher than that night, and the powerband feels a lot smoother through the entirety of the run, but nonetheless, this run gave us a good comparison. Didn’t expect them to be that much faster than the f8x’s I’ve run. Now I have the strangest craving for a v8 biturbo.

Not sure if you actually got around to editing the video to blur the faces out and license plates. Either way, the video quality is poor enough to not really warrant any of those edits

he ran another 11.6 @ 123 at the track on his stock Michelin cup sport tires, he's planning on getting some bolt ons soon, should be pretty beast. This thing has me actually considering switching teams.

Yeah, all bull**** aside. Our cars suck. So much time, money, tune, suspension, tires, port injection, etc to get more hp and torque and still get stomped on by a stock, less horsepower car with similar weight or even heavier.

The c63s has a v8 biturbo and even in stock form, makes a lot more power than my car does. I think this platform is amazing, and these runs are a testament to that. Everything on the bimmer is stock except tires, tune, some basic bolt ons, and a little octane, and the car kept up with a 475whp, 11 in a half second car, and is significantly faster than the f8x. Thatís all I could ever ask from this platform, hopefully my next one has 2 more cylinders Legitimately considered switching teams, the S variant of the new v8 biturbo benz engineís are unbelievable, the car felt like a monster.

Im at 580 whp and cant do 11.5 in a 1/4. Thats my point. So many cars are quicker with less power. Dont get me wrong, I didnt build the car for 1/4 mile, just for fun and THAT it is.

Given how much more expensive the C63S is, I would hope it's faster. From a price/performance perspective it's probably closer to the M6, with the base C63 being nearer the M3/M4. I would imagine the C43 is more comparable to 35i and 40i model BMWs.

The c63s comes with a limited slip differential so that does help it get off the line more efficiently, and the 60' is literally everything on a 1/4 mile run. The gearing is also a huge factor here. With 580whp, you'll trap higher speeds regardless and you will easily walk him from a roll.

Yeah definitely, the c63(s) seems to be is ~0.5-1 tier above the competitors in its class. Our buddy in his f10 slightly pulls on the highway, but they run similar times in the 1/4 mile, probably due to the weight difference. But this was just a fun comparison with my buddy's new car, to reignite our rivalry.

I had previously run his FBO 3.7l q50 with just jb4/pump, he lost.

Then he sold that and got a 3.0 TT q50 redsport, modified it to FBO with a full exhaust/heat exchanger swap, ECUTEK tuned on e85, (426whp on pump and ~450whp on e85) and wanted a rematch. (unlucky for him I had upgraded my car with bolt ons and was running e85/higher boost by this time) He got walked and made his first appearance on my youtube channel.

Sadly he tried taking the car past the turbo/engine's limits shorty after that day and blew the motor.

Fast forward to a couple months back, he picked up this c63s AMG, and this was that run. I thought the c63 came with run flats but he went all out getting the S, that comes with the michelin sport cup tires, and he speced the car with the lightweight performance seats as well. This run was on 17.5 psi, and since I tried getting him to run me on higher boost, he disappeared
either way I'm happy with the run, would've definitely maintained the lead a bit longer with a couple of more pounds of boost, but either way, I'm happy with the results against a $80k+ speced c63S AMG. My goal when I got this car was to make my car significantly faster than an M, and I achieved that, so I'm content. Throughout the process though, I think I fell in love with this AMG, and that v8 biturbo, and am actually considering switching teams
Glad to see Mercedes stepping up to the plate after being the runner-up to bmw for so long. This platform will force a lot of competitors to step up their game.

I trap 123 mph. I feel it should do more for the power I am making.

I agree, with 580whp Iíd definitely expect you have a few more mph up top, most likely closer to 130.

I would like to think its the weight. Havent found much info for trap speed and 1/8 - 1/4 times for E93 for comparison.

Ah, I didn’t know you had a vert! That’ll definitely play a huge factor in drag racing, but it doesn’t matter, I can’t imagine going that fast in a drop top, that’s amazing

I'm always down for runs, we can even get some rolling race shots with the top down

With that much power though, you're definitely going to pull on the top end. My cousin has a a vert f16 m6, with a vf engineering stage 2 making 610whp, I'll try to get some runs against him and post the runs as well.

I usually run right around 560 to the wheels. The 580 was a couple more psi on the dyno to see what it would do. Lpfp struggles to much to run 580 all the time.
