Hello!
I'm awfully sorry! Could you help me please?

Yesterday I bought JB4 for my 320i LCI, but i don't see where I can connect BMS cable to update firmware, I have no socket for it in my JB4 box..

Box like this:

Open up the jb4 casing - remove grey connector of serial end of USB cable - plug into the empty rs232 type socket on the opposite end of jb4 board - lay USB cable into small half hole in jb4 casing - snap close top half of jb4 casing with USB cable sticking out from opposite end of main loom.

Use a flat head screw driver which is approx the same size as the gap and just twist, do this both sides and it pops off easy.

Default EWG on B58 - 04-12-2017, 03:13 AM

Could someone please post a picture of the Location of the EWG connector on the B58.
Also do you have to change any settings (auto code delete) after fitting the KittyLess DP's.

You need to remove the whole air box. Very easy.

Then below there is a heat shield with poppers, underneath there is the EGW connection. There is only one so you can't miss it or mistake it.

I just fitted and blew my board, even although I disconnected my battery first. My only thoughts are that I left the OBD connector in place and there was some residual power in the system still, as it only took me about 5 mins to fit. So if I was you I would be safe, disconnect the battery and wait 30 mins or so to be safe, maybe pop out the OBD port too. I might be completely wrong here but just my thoughts.

Thanks for the Advice, think i will remove the OBD connector as well as disconnect the battery. Do you just pull UP on the bottom half of the Air Box to remove it ?.

Yep, it's just held on 3 rubber mounts. Pops off easily.

And you need to upload the actual .CSV file to the forum using the attach feature not an excel graph. Support requests in this section are deleted, and BMS will not offer support here.

Here's a video regarding how to data log

Besides killing o2 sensors. Is there any reason I shouldn't put a lil bit of 110 leaded in the car before drag racing? We have 110 race gas at pumps around here. I probably only go to track 1 or 2 times a year. Maybe 5 passes then immediately fill up with 93 to dilute the rest back out.

2 gal 110 plus 3 gal 93 equals 5 gal 100.

Thanks for the help, I deleted the message. The support forum is a bit of a mess with all the mixed together, I wanted to find someone with logs on the B48B to compare with but I will post there and see.

I am running map 7 now and it is a lot of fun, I guess I should post a log in support group to see if it looks OK, there is some slight surge when you go form no throttle to full in 3000-4000 RPM, but other then that it is like a different car.

One general question regarding these new higher compression turbo engine, it looks like they run aggressive and lean when off boost, but when the boost kicks in at lower RPM there is only 3-6 deg advance and still is pretty lean even on boost, then timing climb as RPM climb. Is this normal for this these new engine or what people expect with modern high compression turbo's?

Also I tired map 6 but it didn't seem to work, always similar to map 2 regardless of the parameters, is map 6 non functional at this stage? Any timeline for it to be enabled?
