Default Tuning BMW M2 pure stage 2 , FBO , PI - 04-14-2017, 12:09 PM

Hi guys ,

I have a BMW M2 F87 DCT . It has :

JB4 with Bluetooth
EWG harness
BMS intake
Pure stage 2 turbos
Inlet pipes
DV+
ER down pipe
ER charger pipe
ER race intercooler
ER Tic
Fuel it stage 2 LPFP fuel pump (new built)
Fuel it port injection (Platinum kit) with BMS controller & 750cc injectors
N20 Tmap sensor

My plan is tune it first on Pump gas (93 octane) then I will mix it with ethanol .

Just did a Map 6 tune (attached CSV file)

Meth scale 100
N20 map sensor = 1
PID Gain 6
Boost safety 24
AFR 10 across the board

And boost settings
1500: 14
2000: 15
2500: 16
3000: 17
3500: 18
4000: 19
4500: 19
5000: 19
5500: 19
6000: 19
6500: 19
7000: 18

The car is running good but I it only gained 70 whp from the base line . Please help me to reach the maximum of pump gas then we will move to tune it with ethanol.

The car stock has 380bhp? 450 bhp on 93 pump seems maxing out pump gas numbers. You'll need more octane now. At least that's my experience on PS2 with pump gas on N55.
You need octane to get timing up. Adding more boost will cause timing to drop.


F80 M3 - 100-200: N/A
F20 M135i (sold) - 100-200: 6.26

Yes I know but the difference between map 1 and map 6 was only 12 whp .

My car stock bas line Dyno was : 354 whp
Map 1 : 411 whp
Map 6 : 423 whp

That seems low with all mods .

I assume you are from kuwait from the IAT numbers starting from 100, I'd have wait for stage3 turbo, M2 already comes with a good turbo almost stage one power from factory.

420whp on 18psi is nice imagine with some ethanol 23-24psi its a beast and you gonna need some rubber

Was gonna say exactly terkait is saying. Those are pretty good numbers for 18-19psi and just pump. On E60 you will see probably another 30-50whp at the same boost level. Pump gas is just not very conducive of high horsepower on these cars.

Guys ,

During tuning with Terry my car went to boost 0 . It looks it is a mechanical problem. I went to the garage and checked all the parts are ok . Couldn't find the problem.

The car shows 0 boost at all with no Boost leak , no codes and nothing shows at all . I have checked with boost leak test , wires , everything and it seems perfect . The car is not building boost at all .

If anyone knows the problem please advice me ?

Did you change firmware? what map are you running?

try map 0 and see.

Did you check the electronic wastegate? It may be stuck open. I had mine replaced under warranty. I kept throwing codes for it though. You dont have any codes?

Thats a good point too. For a while I had been using an older version of the JB4 mobile app as I have a dedicated phone I leave in my car for the JB4. It doesnt have cell service anymore, so the only time I update it is when I charge it, and thats if I turn it on while charging. Anyway, the older version kept causing problems, random map switches, and my map 6 settings would get altered on their own. Happened twice before I updated the app and everything is normal.

That's because map1 runs additive boost (eg 4 psi) over dme_bt (stock boost). On M2 stock boost is 15 psi. So add 4 psi to that and you are at 19 psi on map1.


F80 M3 - 100-200: N/A

Yes we have checked it . No luck .
No codes . No boost leak

Actually, I was logging with terry to custom map 6 and updating the firmwire but now the car is running 0 boost all the time . He was adjusting the Canbus . The car is seems weak . But now it's not hitting boost .

I have checked all pipes , no codes and nothing is helping me

What do you mean by tuning it?
I don't think you can disable Electronic wastegate actuator from Jb4.

You sure you are not running map 8 which is NA map ( no boost )? which used to be for old cars not sure if it's even available for new F-series.

Ok you might wanna try reupload the firmware if it happened after that. it may missed a block or something.

Today I have removed the EWG and JB4 also same problem.
Checked the boost leak
Check everything

Still the car is zero boost

Any advice

Idk our cars throw codes for small things, no boost and no codes is weird.
might wanna visit the dealer for a software update maybe?

if no codes and no leaks, remove the turbo and check the shaft and compresor wheel

if the turbo is faulty it would produce some boost at least.

there is something blocking the codes from appearing.
even with BEF flash and jb4 we still get a code from low pressure at lower RPMs.

I really wanna take a look at it.
