What's this MHD XHP flash of which you speak?

I'm assuming you are referring to me but if you select an MHD map, it comes up with another screen that lets you select transmission type. XHP flashed transmission is one of the options. I only read about it and noticed it the one day when I was scrolling through the MHD app looking for something else even though I don't use there maps.

The MHD only flash xhp is an option, with the jb4 backend it is not available, i have asked terry about this and basically from what i understand he does not believe there is a need for this, but i do wonder if there is especially since other tuners offer this option as well...

I've read some people had issue with JB4 while flashing. So does turning JB4 to map 0 solve the problem? Or you have to unplugged the unit from the DME?

Also, with MHD having XHP option while flashing, is there anything JB4 MHD backend flash are missing out on?

As mentioned in a few post a few pages back by others. I have the stage 2 xhp with latest update flash version. When in M mode on low throttle, shifting between 1500-2500 I get some shift flare, mostly 2-3, 3-4. I have about 25 miles on the flash maybe more. Will this clear up? I had no issue with Alpina and I'm not able to log with Testo. Thanks. My dme flash target's around 650-660 dmetq e60 custom flash

Give it some more miles for the adaptation to settle. I run S2 on my e82 with mhd s1+ ots and m mode is actually pretty smooth just cruising around.

D mode adapts the quickest, by about 50 miles of light throttle driving it's all set. M mode seems to take a bit longer, but after a few days it's all good.

This option affects the TQ setting of the ECU, to match the TQ Values and Limits used in xHP maps. Depending on what setting was used in the past, this can greatly improve overall shift quality and makes sure, that xHP OTS maps behave as similar as possible on your car, compared to our development cars.

On stage 2 anyone noticed on the D mode on 3rd gear when you are on low speed and slowly accelerating it vibrate and wobbling that u feel the whole car shaking between 1500rpm until it's 2000-2500 then goes normal.

Didn't had this issue on the alpina flash and so far no errors

I have the jb4 backend mhd flash and do not see the xhp flash option... Also, the previous updates that were applied to the e90s there were no e60 updates..

With JB4 BEF there are no options anyway in MHD. This applies only to OTS MHD Maps.

This goes back to me asking Terry to make specific xhp maps for us backend jb4 guys, basically from what i got he does not believe there would be any benefit from returning the torque calculations back to original (he has mentioned that we can do it in tunerpro, but i have no idea, as many others, on how to do it). If there is a benefit, could you explain that there is, especially since it would be helping our autos with even better shift quality. Or is this going to be an MHD ots only feature?

From my understanding, thats only works in MHD OTS Maps, as the BEF is delivered through MHD "as it is". ATM I don't even have an idea what TQ values the BEF transmits, so I can't judge on that if there could be a benefit.

I recently changed my phone and my license and purchased flash seemed to carry over fine but I have 2 issues:

1. When I try to flash, it asks me to do a backup. I copied my backup files over from the old phone but it looks like I'm missing a setting?

2. When I try to do another backup (not sure if this would even work as I've already flashed my TCU with stage 3), I get the error message "Too many read errors. Your INPA cable returned empty data packets. Aborting the process. Errors total:3" This is the same cable that I've used in the past to do the XHP and the MHD flashes?

+ copy the xhp.state file from the old phone and you're good to go again.

yeah sort of a mild groan, as though it is shifting too soon or on /off clutches not in harmony. find myself in s-mode to work around.

Is this not a torque converter issue. Termed "transmission shudder"

I got this after flashing alpina and it only got worse. I used some stuff called lube guard auto transmission shudder fix and it cured it! It's a friction modifier you put in the transmission oil.

Maybe @rayban can chime in on this?

So I'm not the only one...
Additives will mask it but I believe the issue related to something in the tune, on the alpina and stock flash I never had this issue, and I'm sure my transmission not abused

That's the Torque Converter dying most likely. With closed torque converter clutch on low revs it gets more noticeable. Stock, Alpina and Stage 3 all used different strategies for the TC clutch, thats why it gets more or less noticeable.

Any more info on this, just tried to flash my friends car and his said same thing at 75% of backup. He's never installed xhp before. Could it be the cable itself "Too many read errors. Your INPA cable returned empty data packets"

It's just an unstable connection. When an errors occur towards the end of the backup, it's likely one of 2 things:

- Cable not stable on heavy use (get new one from Bimmergeeks)
- Battery of vehicle got low
