Default E85 on cooper s - more power? - 09-24-2017, 09:26 AM

I was wondering if the e85 sensing wires for the jb4 make the tune any more aggressive when it senses e85 present and you get more power or if it's just so you can safely run e85 with the tune.

2017 clubman s
Thanks

Running E85 should allow it to run more boost happier, so it should make more power. It really depends on what your car is doing now. Are you hitting the targets on pump fuel? If so a more aggressive tune could be used and it would make more power.

Thanks for the reply!

Right now my car is stock without a jb4, I'm trying to figure out which way to go with my tuning

So I guess my question is- on a typical clubman s how much more power (with an out of the box jb4) will the car make with the e85 octane sensor installed vs it just running without the sensor.

I recall seeing a dyno with ~50 hp and ~50 tq with just the jb4, how much typically with the e85 sensor ? Or will it usually run at the same power using the cheaper e85.

Thanks !
