Default What is the limit of the factory fuel system on the N20 motor? (125i F20) - 11-06-2017, 09:34 PM

Just wondering what is the limit of the fuel system on the N20 motor?

I have full bolt ons and plan on a custom dyno tune so just wondering what else I would need to upgrade.

Im chasing 300 RW HP.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hey,
From what I've read over the years is that the N20 motor is not particularly strong, they seem to have head gasket and head cracking issues under high boost, rods seem to bend easily, and a few other points I dont remember.

I think the safe limit is probably ~280whp around that area but im not sure as I dont have much experience with the N20. Maybe someone else can chime in.

All statements above have been written and spread in all forums.
Though 280whp is 337 hp on the crank if the formula i have is correct the fella is looking for about 260whp = 300 on the crank so if he could clarify in Kw at least is easier to communicate suggest. the different measurement methods can be confusing

I know 300 RW HP is about the engine's limit.

I'd be very happy with a tune that puts out 260-280 RW HP , just wondering if the factory fuel system can easily do that without any upgrades?

I'm considering a BPC or Evolve Technik flash tunes... JB4 is yeah...you get what you pay for !

thanks!
