Default Someone has JB3 / 4 in a European 335i DKG? - 01-31-2011, 09:46 AM

Hello, my name is Ruben, I'm from Spain and want to buy a JB4. I have doubts about its performance in cars N54 with DKG (DCT).

Currently I have put a PROcedee but does not work very well. Jerk to make gear changes.

Someone has a 306 hp 335i DKG Europe with a JB3 / 4 installed to tell me that this will work?

Many thanks and greetings.

I'm sure it will work. Check with Terry.
I was hesitant until I bought the JB3 and put in, and ran up the back of my friends 335. Then he was convinced as well! Can't wait to upgrade to the JB4w/meth.

Also, buy the Bavaria tech cable, select the language, and reset any tuner detection codes if you don't trust the auto-deletion on the JB4. I haven't had problems taking it in for service and it's a 2010.

No go to the forced induction section and look for:

How does the JB4 handle DCT cars?

It will answer some of your questions. I assume it will work fine, by what some are saying.

I got the 335i DKG (DCT) with now JB4 installed and it drives great. If you press the sport button it will shift harder but normal driving is smooth. I can only recommend it.

Hi, thanks for answering European colleague ...

When you activate the button "sport" becomes more abrupt? But no problem? Is this normal?

It is necessary to make any special configuration for use with DKG JB4 or buy it as it comes pre-configured?

Best Regards fro Spain.

With the sport active it changes gear much faster - it's the same with or without tuning. Personally I don't think it's a problem.

No special configuraton needed for the JB4 installation on DKG transmissions. JB4 is a smoother drive than the JB3. Install is easy.

Let me know if you need further - greetings from Belgium

DKG is not simple called the AT here? Thats the automatic with the torque converter.

DCT is the double clutch dry automatic gearbox. But thats called DCT in the EU as well. No?

Anyway i have the simple automatic and it works fine with tune, and Terry has this automatic tuned up to over 500whp and it still holds.

There is a guy here in Budapest who has the DCT and JB4 and it also works fine, the power is not to much. I think up to 400-450whp the DCT should be fine depending on driving style. Of course if you drive like me than you can kill the DCT with the stock power also fast... Wiht the JB4 and a really good car you will max out the car on 360-400whp, so no worry's...

Slow, stupid and angry...

2007 E90 335i AT, G5 ISO, FSB, BMS flash, RB's, RB PCV, DP's, ER OC's, Injen DCI, BMS OCC, FMIC, ER CP, Tial Q BOV, Walbro 455 LPFP, Snow meth kit injecting 100% meth, runnung on E40-50, Wavetrac LSD.

Coming: BT FMIC, bigger better water rad.
