Charger SRT8 -
03-09-2010, 08:30 PM
Well, ran against a new Charger SRT8 from a dig, and my first thought is... traction FTL.
I didn't expect the race (after all, who races in mexico?) so I had full TC on. We went, and my car hit TC hard in first and second, almost the entire way through the gears. Stayed dead even pegged on traction control. Then when I finally hooked up I pulled away pretty dang hard.
I was surprised, nothing has done that well before, they aren't too bad of a car.
I'm full bolt-ons, every suspension piece changed, and 2.0. I have +10mm rear tires (V12 evos), and I still need a BUNCH more traction. That SRT8 thought he was even for a while, if I had traction, it wouldn't have been close.

Sweet! I got my DPs and meth installed now - I think my driving record is in even MORE danger. Going to book some time at High Plains Raceway in April.

Those SRT8 Chargers are no joke. I had a hard time on map 7 + passenger against an SRT8 at freeway+ speeds. I couldn't get a decent pull from a roll.

Nice kill. +1 on the traction, I had nearly the same encounter, didn't get the chance to take off TC and it intervened quite bad though 2nd and half of third. Ended up pulling 3-4 cl on a charger srt8. That was just map5 1.4 and DCI.

High altitude definately takes away any N/A bite they may have.

I ran one a couple months back with 1.4 map7 and dci, he has exhaust and not sure what else. We went 3 times he won 1st time I have traction on and it didnt let the car go, 2nd and 3rd time I didnt brake boost and had dtc with a bit of roll out I had him by 1-2 car at 120. They r fast!

Pretty sure the one I found was stock. It was even with TC cutting almost all of my power. As soon as I hit 3rd and had good enough traction to stop TC from closing throttle, I ran away pretty hard. It was still faster than I expected though.
And altitude definitely cuts them worse than it does me.
